SibShops

  • Knox County Board of Developmental Disabilities 11700 Upper Gilchrist Road Mount Vernon, OH, 43050 United States (map)

Sibshops are workshops for siblings of children with disabilities that are full of fun games, making new friends, and discussion activities.

We know siblings are typically the longest relationship a person with a disability will have and that many siblings become the primary caregiver or coordinator of care as their parents age. And just like we know it's important for parents to be connected and have support, it is just as important for siblings to be connected and have support as well.

Through Sibshops, we hope to provide a space for "Sibs" to gather, meet each other, have fun, and be able to talk about the uniqueness of being a sibling to a person with a disability.

This program is being offered in partnership with OhioSIBS and the Sibling Support Project.

Siblings are welcome to attend all 4 workshops or just 1. There will be new games and activities at each one.

If you, or a family you support has any questions about the program or would like to pre-register for an upcoming workshop, please contact Talisha Beha at 330-390-5175 or tbeha@knoxdd.com
